COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 3 Ohio State (29-4) is set to host the first and second rounds of the 2026 NCAA Tournament this weekend at the Auer Tennis Complex. California and Kentucky will play Friday at 10 a.m. before Ohio State takes on Buffalo for the second-consecutive year at 1 p.m.
The winners will play in the second-round match at 4 p.m. Saturday with the winner earning a spot in the Super Regionals.
In the Friday match against Buffalo, Ohio State will be recognizing the three seniors on the Buckeye roster. Jack Anthrop, Alexander Bernard and Loren Byers will all be honored after the match.
Admission and parking are free for all men's tennis matches.

- The Buckeyes have consistently hosted opening round matches, this year marks the 19th time in the past 20 years, all with Ty Tucker as head coach.
- Ohio State owns a 73-25 record in the NCAA Tournament and has secured runner-up finishes in 2009, 2018 and most recently in 2023.
- The Buckeyes have advanced past the first round 21 times out of their previous 25 appearances.
- At home, the Buckeyes are 16-1 and have swept a total of 13 opponents, outsourcing them 74-9.
- Ohio State is coming off clinching a share of their 20th-consecutive Big Ten regular-season title. In the Big Ten Tournament, the Buckeyes took second after beating Nebraska and Illinois to make it to the finals.
- Aidan Kim and Nikita Filin earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Tournament Team after Kim earned a ranked victory against Michigan State and Filin extended his undefeated streak of Big Ten opponents to 11 singles matches.
- Over the weekend, Kim and Bryce Nakashima earned their 10th-consecutive doubles victory while Alex Okonkwo and Loren Byers made it to five-consecutive singles wins.
- Ohio State is playing Buffalo for the second-consecutive year in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Last year, the Buckeyes swept the Bulls, 4-0, with Jack Anthrop and Bryce Nakashima grabbing singles wins. Ohio State is 2-0 all-time against Buffalo.
- Against California, the Buckeyes are 1-2 with their last match ending in a 4-3 loss in 2016. The Golden Bears are ranked No. 41 in the latest ITA rankings and sit at 16-13 on the year.
- Ohio State owns a 23-14 all-time record against Kentucky. Since Ty Tucker was named head coach, the Buckeyes own a 15-2 record against the Wildcats.
- Six Buckeyes landed on the leaderboard in the latest ITA singles rankings. Aidan Kim is the highest Buckeye at No. 12 followed by Jack Anthrop at No. 29, Preston Stearns at No. 30, Alex Okonkwo at No. 43, Nikita Filin at No. 85 and Bryce Nakashima reentering the rankings at No. 118.
- Three Ohio State pairs are ranked in the latest ITA doubles rankings with Brandon Carpico and Filin leading the way at No. 5, Alexander Bernard and Okonkwo at No. 39 and Kim and Nakashima at No. 53.
