
Seven Buckeye Divers Qualify for NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seven Ohio State divers qualified for the NCAA Championships during competition at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships this week at Eastern Michigan.
Out of seven available spots from Zone C, three Buckeye women punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships in the one-meter dive on the first day of Zones. In finals, Michelle Mazzara placed fourth with a score of 593.50, Lena Hentschel placed fifth with a score of 592.05 and Mia Prusicki secured the last spot, placing seventh with a score of 582.50.
Ernest Braitenbach secured his spot at the NCAA Championships in the three-meter dive. He placed eighth with a score of 714.20.
On the second day of competition, Hentschel, Prusiecki and Mazzara all qualified for the NCAA Championships on the three-meter. Hentschel was the winner of finals with a score of 682.25. Prusiecki (622.95) placed fifth and Mazzara (576.00) placed tenth.
In the men's one-meter, Braitenbach and Tyler Read secured their spots at the national championships. Braitenbach placed fourth with an aggregate score of 699.00 and Read placed fifth with a score of 693.75.
NCAA Zones concluded on Wednesday with platform diving. For the women, Hannah Newbrook was the Zone C champion with a score 595.20 to punch her ticket to the national championships. Prusieki placed fourth with a score of 557.15, Brooklyn Petit placed fifth with a score of 525.75 and Hentschel placed 11th with a score of 459.35.
For the men, Braitenbach and Read qualified for the NCAA Championships on platform. Braitenbach placed seventh with a score of 658.80 and Read placed 12th with a score of 620.10.
The women's NCAA Championships are March 18-21 and the men will compete March 25-28. Both will take place in Atlanta, Ga.
