Buckeyes Set for NCAA Midwest Regionals

23 Ohio State fencers head to Cleveland
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Members of the Ohio State men's and women's fencing teams will compete in the 2026 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Cleveland State in Cleveland, Ohio, Sunday.
The women's events start at 9 a.m., with the men's competition beginning at noon. Live results
The Buckeyes will be joined in the championships by fencers from Cleveland State, Denison, Detroit Mercy, Lawrence, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Wayne State. Schools could qualify no more than 12 fencers per gender for the regional competition.

This year, 23 Buckeyes – five in men's epee, four in men's foil, women's epee and women's sabre and three in men's sabre and women's foil – will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regionals.

Of the current Buckeyes who competed last year at regionals, Natalia Botello was the women's sabre silver medalist and Gloria Klughardt earned bronze in women's epee. For the men, Solin Li was the bronze medalist in men's foil.

NCAA Championships Up Next
- The 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships will be held in South Bend, Ind., hosted by Notre Dame.
- For the first time since the NCAA began sponsoring women's sports, separate men's and women's fencing team championships will be awarded. The women's event will be held March 19-20, with the men competing March 21-22.
- The athletes selected for the 2026 NCAA Championships will be announced on NCAA.com March 10.
- Qualification to the NCAA Championships is based on regular season results and NCAA regional finish. No more than two fencers per gender per weapon from a school may be selected.
