COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 ranked Ohio State women's tennis team dropped a road match to No. 6 Pepperdine, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon in Malibu, Calif. Ohio State is now 10-2 on the year, with the Waves improving to 10-3.

How it Happened
The Waves won a ranked matchup on court one, 6-0, and took court three, 6-3, for the doubles point. The match on court two was abandoned with Pepperdine leading 4-3.

Pepperdine carried the momentum into singles, claiming the first set on all six courts. A court six win by Alexia Harmon over Buckeye Hephzibah Oluwadare put the Waves up 2-0, followed by a victory by No. 122 Sonja Zhiyenbayeva over No. 3 Luciana Perry on court two. No. 10-ranked Anastasiia Grechkina clinched the team victory with a straight set win over Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev on court three.

The remaining matches were suspended. On court one, Buckeye Teah Chavez was even in the second set and on court five Ohio State's Nao Nishino was up a break in the second set. Pepperdine led 5-2 in the second set on court five.
