Ohio State heads west to face USC, UCLA next weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 2 Ohio State (19-3, 6-1) secured a sweep of the weekend with a 4-0 victory over Northwestern (13-10, 1-7) Sunday at the Auer Tennis Complex. Ohio State defeated No. 14 Illinois, 5-2, Friday.

Doubles

No. 28 Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima earned the opening victory with a 6-3 win over Ethan Schiffman and Cyrus Mahjoob at No. 2 doubles.
The Buckeyes clinched the doubles point at No. 3. No. 17 Alexander Bernard with Alex Okonkwo defeated Northwestern's Owen Megargee and Cooper Han, 6-4.

Singles

Ohio State won the opening set in all six singles matches.
Loren Byers won the first set in singles at No. 5, 6-1. He then earned Ohio State's third team point with a 6-1 win in the second set. It was the 100^th collegiate win for Byers.

Nikita Filin secured the first singles point for the Buckeyes at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Northwestern's Ethan Schiffman.

Aidan Kim cruised to a first set win at No. 1, 6-1. He finished off the match with a 6-3 victory just after Jack Anthrop won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles to secure the win for the Buckeyes.
