Buckeyes Finish Top-5 After First Round of Clemson Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team finished the first round of the Clemson Invitational in fourth place on Friday at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, South Carolina.
As a team, the Buckeyes opened play with a 283 (-5). Kary Hollenbaugh set the tone early, firing a remarkable 67 (-5) with six total birdies. She recorded four birdies on the front nine to build momentum and give Ohio State a strong start.
Behind Hollenbaugh, the Buckeyes showcased impressive balance throughout the lineup. Sophie Eppelstun delivered a steady and controlled round, carding an even-par 72. Nellie Ong matched that 72 (E), adding four birdies on the round. Mandy Song contributed to the consistency as well, also finishing at even-par 72, giving Ohio State three counting scores at par to complement Hollenbaugh's round in the 60s.
Matilde Santilli rounded out the lineup just one stroke back, posting a 73 (+1) with three birdies of her own. Marin Joyce-Moreno, competing as an individual, carded a 74 (+2) to conclude the day.
The Buckeyes return to action for round two of the Clemson Invitational on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
