COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior goalie Jack Allen and senior defenseman Cullen Brown were named to the Big Ten weekly honor roll, the conference announced Tuesday. Allen is the league's Specialist of the Week and Brown picks up the Defensive Player of the Week award.
Allen earns his first career Big Ten weekly honor after a career-best game against then-ranked No. 16 Rutgers. He played a career-high 39:05 against the Scarlet Knights and made 10 saves, the most of his career, to help the Buckeyes to the 6-5 conference win.
Brown caused a season-high four turnovers against Rutgers and grabbed four ground balls. With his performance against the Scarlet Knights, he became the program's career caused turnover record holder.
Ohio State continues its Big Ten schedule this weekend against No. 9 Penn State. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions face off Saturday, March 28 at 4 p.m. from Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. The game will be televised on Big Ten Network.
