Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Sunday, Ohio State makes its fifth consecutive national title game appearance on the ice that it made its first appearance in 2022.
- The Buckeyes advanced to the national championship game with a 5-0 win over Northeastern in the Frozen Four semifinal on Friday. Senior netminder Hailey MacLeod made 15 saves for her sixth shutout of the season and five different players scored while 10 recorded a point in the game.
- Hilda Svensson and Joy Dunne have recorded 50-point seasons for the Buckeyes. Svensson leads the team with 51 points and 33 assists in her rookie campaign. Dunne's 27 goals are a team high. Svensson is two points shy of the program record for points by a Buckeye freshman.
- Dunne and Emma Peschel were named CCM/AHCA All-Americans Saturday. Peschel earns her second career All-America honor and this year picks up the first team nod. Dunne is on the second team. Ohio State has two All-Americans in a season for the first time since 2023.
- Ohio State's win over Northeastern was its program-record 36th win of the season. The previous was 35, reached in 2023-24.
- MacLeod is the program record holder for wins in a season with a 26-3-0 record on the year. She has a .933 save percentage and a 1.43 goals-against average in her senior season and has allowed just four goals in six postseason games this year.
- The Buckeyes are led by head coach Nadine Muzerall. She has led the team to all of its NCAA tournament appearances and is the winningest coach in program history with a 260-85-22 record in 10 seasons at the helm. She is assisted by associate head coach James Wisniewski and assistant coaches Kelsey Cline and Logan Davis.
- Ohio State and Wisconsin meet for the fourth straight time in the national championship game and the fifth time overall in the Frozen Four.
- Sunday marks the sixth meeting between the Buckeyes and Badgers this year. Ohio State has two wins in the season series.
- The teams have already faced off in a championship game this year, with the Buckeyes taking the WCHA Final Faceoff championship game, 2-1, on March 7. Â
