COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 1 Ohio State women's hockey team is set for its sixth straight Frozen Four appearance with a meeting against No. 5 seed Northeastern in the 2026 Frozen Four semifinals Friday, March 20 at 4 p.m. The Buckeyes (35-4-0, 24-4-0 WCHA) and Huskies (29-8-1, 21-2-1 HEA) play in the first semifinal of the 2026 Frozen Four being played at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa. on the campus of Penn State University.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State advanced to the Frozen Four after defeating Yale, 6-1, in the regional final last Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink. Junior forward Jocelyn Amos tied the program record for points in an NCAA tournament game, and her personal career record, with four points against the Bulldogs. Buckeye goaltender Hailey MacLeod made 22 saves.
- Ohio State freshman forward Hilda Svensson leads the team with 50 points on the year. Joy Dunne (48), Amos (46) and Sloane Matthews (43) are also 40-point scorers this season for the team. In all, ten of the team's 19 skaters have 20-plus points on the year and every skater has recorded multiple points.
- Entering the semifinal against No. 4 ranked Northeastern, Ohio State is 25-4-0 against ranked teams this year and 16-4-0 against the top 10.
- The team leads the country in faceoff win percentage (.601) and second nationally in goals (174) and goals per game (4.46). The Buckeyes also rank top five in assists (263), power play goals (35), power play percentage (.276), scoring defense (1.62), scoring margin (2.85) and total points (437).
- Buckeye bench boss Nadine Muzerall was named one of seven finalists for the 2025-26 CCM/AHCA University Division Women's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year Award this week. To be a finalist for this award, one must either be voted Coach of the Year in your conference or advance to the NCAA semifinals. Muzerall has guided the team to a program record tying 35 wins this season.
- The team finished its 2025-26 home schedule 17-2-0 at home this season. The team's 17 wins on home ice are the second-most in program history. Ohio State is 18-2-0 this year when playing outside of Columbus and 4-0-0 in neutral venues.
- Not only has Ohio State advanced to six consecutive Frozen Fours, but the team has also played in the Frozen Four in all seven seasons it has earned a spot in the NCAA tournament and the Frozen Four has been contested. The only time the Buckeyes have made the NCAA tournament and not played in the Frozen Four was the 2019-20 season when the tournament was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- The Buckeyes are just the third program to play in six consecutive Frozen Fours and are the only team on an active Frozen Four streak of four-plus appearances.
- All eight of the team's tournament qualifications have come during head coach Nadine Muzerall's tenure at Ohio State.
- Ohio State is 6-5 in the Frozen Four has a 13-4 record in the NCAA tournament. The team has won the national championship twice. The first championship was won in 2022, at Pegula Ice Arena, and its second came in 2024.
- The 2025-26 roster includes 13 players from last year's Frozen Four team. Seniors Emma Peschel and Sloane Matthews are the only Buckeyes on the roster who are making their fourth consecutive trip to the Frozen Four.
- Ohio State is 8-3-2 all-time against Northeastern.
- Saturday marks second consecutive meeting between the teams in the Frozen Four semifinals.
- The team's last faced off in the 2023 Frozen Four, with the Buckeyes earning a 3-0 shutout in the semifinals.
- Seniors Emma Peschel and Sloane Matthews are the only Buckeyes who were on the 2022-23 Ohio State team that played the Huskies.
