No. 2 Buckeyes Post B1G Win at No. 8 UCLA, 4-0

Ohio State now 11-2 on the year, 4-0 in B1G play
COLUMBUS, Ohio – In a Top 10 matchup between Big Ten women's tennis teams, No. 2 ranked Ohio State defeated No. 8 UCLA, 4-0, Saturday in Los Angeles, Calif. The Buckeyes improve to 11-2 on the year, with a 4-0 B1G mark, and the Bruins are 7-4 (1-2 B1G).
The Buckeyes used the doubles point and three straight-set wins for the B1G victory. Teah Chavez prevailed in singles and paired with Hephzibah Oluwadare for a doubles win, while Audrey Spencer was a winner in singles and teamed up with Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev to capture the doubles point. Alessia Cau clinched the team victory with a singles win.

How it Happened
- Ohio State captured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.
- On court one, the No. 17-ranked tandem of Teah Chavez and Hephzibah Oluwadare defeated No. 31 Olivia Center and Kate Fakih, 6-2. Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Audrey Spencer clinched the point with a 6-3 victory over Kayla Chung and Mayu Crossley.
- The teams split the six first sets in singles. Ohio State went on to capture the matches on courts four, one and six in straight sets for the win.
- No. 102-ranked Spencer was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Fakih on court four to put the Buckeyes up 2-0.
- On court one, Chavez, ranked fourth, topped No. 40 Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer, 6-3, 7-5, with a break and a hold to close it out.
- Alessia Cau sealed the team victory, downing Olivia Center, 6-4, 7-5, on court six.
- On court two, No. 3 Luciana Perry rallied to force a third set and was ahead 2-1 when the team match was clinched.
- Cisse-Ignatiev was up a set and leading 5-4 in the second on court three when play was abandoned and on court five Nao Nishino was behind in the second set after dropping the first.
- Chavez and Spencer are both 9-0 in dual play this spring to lead the Buckeyes.
