
Buckeyes Fall to No. 2 Michigan 82-61

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Michigan used a strong rebounding performance and second-half scoring surge to defeat Ohio State 82–61 Sunday afternoon at the Schottenstein Center.
Ohio State falls to 15–8 overall and 7–6 in Big Ten play, while Michigan improves to 22–1 and 12–1 in conference action.
Bruce Thornton paced the Buckeyes with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists, moving closer to fifth place on Ohio State’s all-time scoring list. Devin Royal added 15 points and six rebounds while Christoph Tilly contributed 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Taison Chatman provided a spark off the bench with eight points and six rebounds.
Ohio State stayed within reach throughout the first half behind early scoring from Tilly and steady playmaking from Thornton, trimming the deficit to single digits multiple times before Michigan carried a 44–34 lead into halftime.
The Buckeyes showed energy coming out of the locker room but Michigan responded with a sustained run midway through the period to extend the lead and put the game away.
Michigan was led by Aday Mara, who scored a game-high 24 points.

The Buckeyes remain at home for a big game on Wednesday against USC. The teams are tied in the Big Ten standings at 7-6. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on BTN.
