Montes and Karabela both score twice for Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – With two goals from both Max Montes and Jake Karabela, the Ohio State men's hockey team skated to a 5-1 win at No. 1 Michigan State Friday in Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich. The Buckeyes scored three goals in less than four minutes in the first period and led 4-1 after the second for the victory.

The Buckeyes (12-18-1, 8-13 B1G) and Spartans (24-7, 15-6) will close the weekend and regular season series at 8 p.m. Saturday in East Lansing, with the game on BTN and Ohio State Radio.

- Freshman defenseman Bryce Ingles opened the scoring with his first career goal. With the teams 4x4, Max Montes won a faceoff in the Spartan zone and Ingles' shot from up high got through at 11:57.
- Late in a power play, Jake Karabela scored from right in front, assisted by Davis Burnside and Riley Thompson, at 13:51.
- Montes notched a goal of his own at 15:26, putting in the rebound of an Ethan Straky shot, with Jake Rozzi also assisting.
- Michigan State had the first three shots in the period, but Ohio State ended ahead, 13-7.
- Montes notched the only goal of the second, taking a pass from Ryan Gordon and putting a shot far side at 11:52. Ingles also had a helper on the tally.
