
Parker Thackston Earns CGA Specialist of the Week Honors

Thackston became a member of the U.S. Senior Men’s National Team for his performance at the Winter Cup.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The College Gymnastics Association (CGA) announced its weekly men's gymnastics awards on Wednesday. Senior Parker Thackston was named CGA Specialist of the Week following his pommel horse win at the Winter Cup last weekend. This is his first time this season and fourth time in his career earning CGA Specialist of the Week honors.

Thackston earned a spot on the Men's Senior National Team for his performance at the 2026 Winter Cup. Thackston captured the pommel horse title with a career-high score of 15.325. He was the only gymnast to score a 15.000 or above on any event and beat the runner-up on pommel horse by more than a full point. Thackston is the only gymnast in the country this season to earn a 15.000 or better on pommel horse and ranks in the top 10 nationally in the event.

Ohio State hosts No. 13 Army and No. 14 William & Mary on Saturday for senior day. The tri-meet will begin at 2 p.m. with senior day ceremonies taking place after the meet.
