Cimoroni is WCHA Rookie of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Western Collegiate Hockey Association named Ohio State women's hockey freshman forward Maxine Cimoroni its Rookie of the Week after a four-point weekend against No. 3 Minnesota.
Cimoroni tied for the team lead in points and recorded a team-high two goals in the sweep of the Gophers. The Toronto, Ontario native scored the first of three Buckeye power play goals in the game one win. She also added an assist on the third. The power play goal was her first of her career.
In game two, Cimoroni assisted the game-tying goal and scored the game-winning goal for the Buckeyes.
The award is Cimoroni's second of her career. She has skated in all 32 games for Ohio State this season and is fifth on the team with 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists. She has recorded multiple points in six of the last seven games for the Buckeyes with a goal in four of those games.
