Burnside scores twice for Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's hockey team fell to No. 13 Wisconsin, 4-2, Friday in the Schottenstein Center. Wisconsin led 2-0 after the first period and 3-0 through 40 minutes. Ohio State drew within two early in the third, but the Badgers regained the three-goal edge with just under five minutes remaining. The Buckeyes scored an extra attacker goal in the final minute for the 4-2 score.

The Buckeyes (10-16-1, 6-11 B1G) and Badgers (18-9-2, 11-8 B1G) will wrap up the weekend and regular season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Columbus. BTN will televise the game and Ohio State Radio will carry the matchup. The night features a free postgame skate (fans must bring their own skates).Â

Two goals in 18 seconds, at 5:38 and 5:58, put the Badgers ahead 2-0 in the first period. Wisconsin tallied the only goal of the second for a 3-0 advantage. In the third, Buckeye Davis Burnside tallied at 3:59 but an unassisted goal put Wisconsin back up by three at 15:04. With the Ohio State net empty in the final minute, Burnside notched his second of the night to make it a two-goal game.

How it Happened
- Wisconsin's Grady Deering opened the scoring at 5:38 and Simon Tassy doubled the lead on the next shift at 5:56.
- Shots were 9-6 in favor of Ohio State in the first and each team had one shortened power play, with a second Badger chance carrying into the second.
- In the second, Gavin Morrisey put Wisconsin up 3-0 at 5:01 and the Badgers had the edge in shots, 11-8.
- Davis Burnside's shot went off Badgers and in at 3:59 of the third to put the Buckeyes on the board, assisted by Max Montes.
- Morrisey picked off a Buckeye pass for a breakaway and converted at 15:04 to give the Badgers a 4-1 lead.
- Ohio State skated with its net empty for nearly three minutes to close out the game. Burnside tallied from the faceoff circle at 19:46, with assists from Felix Caron and Broten Sabo, for the 4-2 final.
- Ohio State led in shots, 11-8, in the third for a 28-25 advantage for the game.
- Buckeye goalie Sam Hillebrandt made 21 saves in 57:07. Wisconsin starter Daniel Hauser stopped all 12 shots he faced in 26:22 before he was replaced because of injury by Eli Pulver, who made 14 saves on 16 shots.
