Cambridge ranks in the top 10 nationally in scoring this season.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Los Angeles Athletic Club's John R. Wooden Award, presented by Principal, announced its 2025-26 Women's Late Midseason Top 20 Watch List on Tuesday. Ohio State sophomore guard Jaloni Cambridge was among three Big Ten players on the list.
Â
The players on the list are considered strong candidates for the 2026 John R. Wooden Award® Women's Player of the Year. Players not selected for the list remain eligible for inclusion on the Wooden Award® National Ballot. The National Ballot will feature 15 top players who have demonstrated to their universities that they meet or exceed the Wooden Award® qualifications.
Cambridge was named to the preseason watch lists for the Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award and earned a spot on the Preseason All-Big Ten Team prior to the season. She was also named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List. Cambridge was named AP Player of the Week and Big Ten Player of the Week on Jan. 12 and has twice tabbed one of the five USBWA Women's Players of the Week (Jan. 13, Feb. 10). She has earned a spot on the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll six times this season, including each of the past four weeks. She was also crowned the MVP of the Pink Flamingo Championship and headlined the all-tournament team for the event.
Â
Cambridge has scored in double figures in each of the Buckeyes' 24 games this season. In January, Cambridge became the first Buckeye since Kelsey Mitchell nearly a decade ago to score 25 or more points in three consecutive games and now, she's done it for a second time, scoring 26, 29, 30 and 26 points during consecutive games between Jan. 25 and Feb. 5. Cambridge is tied for second in the conference in scoring (22.5 ppg) and is also top 10 in steals (2.1 spg) and assists (4.5 apg). In conference play, Cambridge leads the Big Ten with 25.8 points per game.
