COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Director of Swimming and Diving Bill Dorenkott has announced the hiring of Benjamin Moldoff, who will serve as the assistant diving coach for the men's and women's teams.
"Adding Coach Moldoff to our coaching staff is a big win for the Buckeyes," said head diving coach Justin Sochor. "Ben comes to us with an already established relationship with both me, as well as the student-athletes. He is an experienced and respected coach across the country and with USA Diving. We are lucky to have him onboard and are excited for the future."
Moldoff joins the Buckeyes with more than 12 years of coaching experience, having developed athletes from the novice level to U.S. Olympic Trials finalists and World Championships competitors, while coaching multiple Junior National medalists.
"I cannot put into words how excited I am to join the Ohio State swimming and diving staff," Moldoff said. "The history of this diving program is unmistakable, and I look forward to making an impact during the 2026-27 season."
Prior to Ohio State, Moldoff most recently served as the head competitive team coach at ACES Diving in Columbus, leading the program to Region 6, Zone 6 and Central Nationals team championship titles in 2026. In his role at ACES, Moldoff developed individualized training plans for more than 100 athletes and worked with college coaching staffs to identify NCAA scholarship opportunities.
Prior to ACES Diving, he served as the owner and head coach of Triad Diving Academy from 2020-23 in Greensboro, N.C. Moldoff began his coaching career at West Chester Diving, assisting with recruiting and coaching NCAA Division II athletes.
Moldoff earned a degree in exercise science from West Chester University in 2015 and competed on the university's men's diving team during the 2010-11 season.
