COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (8-5, 1-2 Big Ten) fell to Rutgers (10-5, 1-2 Big Ten) in straight sets (21-25, 14-25, 23-25) on Thursday night in the Covelli Center.

- The Buckeyes went on a 7-3 run to open the first set, which included two kills from Alia Schoonover.
- Rutgers took a 10-8 lead over the Buckeyes but kills from Naomy Govou and Kalli Jioshvili-Ravva tied things up, 10-10.
- Trailing by four, 20-16, a service error for the Scarlet Knights and a kill from Govou put the Buckeyes within two points of the lead, 20-18.
- Another kill from Govou and a block by Aneta Valentová and Govou left Ohio State down by just one point, 21-20.
- The Scarlet Knights, however, went on a 5-1 run to take set one, 25-21.
- The Scarlet Knights went on a 10-2 run to open the second set. A kill from Schoonover and a kill from Kelly McAuley cut the Rutgers lead to six, 10-4.
- At the media timeout, Ohio State trailed the Scarlet Knights, 15-5.
- A block by Hannah Jones and Valentová, a kill from Jones and an ace from Govou cut the Rutgers lead to nine, 18-9, but the Scarlet Knights remained in control and took set two, 25-14.
- An ace from Bella Humphrey and kills from Govou, Jones and Na'vea Gauthier gave the Buckeyes the early 6-2 lead over the Scarlet Knights in the third set.
- Back-to-back kills from Govou kept Ohio State ahead by four, 10-6.
- Jones' seventh kill of the match brought the teams to the media timeout with the Buckeyes in the lead, 15-13.
- Coming out of an Ohio State timeout, two more kills from Jones gave Ohio State a three-point advantage, 21-18.
- The score was soon tied, 23-23, after a 5-2 run from the Scarlet Knights, forcing Ohio State to call a timeout. Rutgers scored the game-winning points to take set three, 25-23, and the match 3-0.
- Govou led the Buckeyes with 11 kills. It is Govou's eighth match of the season with double digit kills.
- Jones added 10 kills. Jones has been in double digit kills in 12 out of 13 matches.
- Emily Avshalomov led the team in digs with 12.
- Bailey Nakenelua led the Buckeyes in assists with 16. Mia Tuman added 10 assists.
