COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (9-5, 2-2 Big Ten) is back in the win column after a 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23) victory at Northwestern (7-8, 0-4 Big Ten) on Saturday night.

- The Buckeyes went on a 10-4 run to open the first set, which included two aces from Naomy Govou and two kills from Hannah Jones.
- Back-to-back kills from Govou brought the teams to the media timeout with the Buckeyes ahead, 15-8.
- A kill from Alia Schoonover and an error on the Wildcats forced Northwestern to call timeout with the Buckeyes in the lead, 19-13.
- Coming out of the timeout, a kill from Kalli Jioshvili-Ravva and Schoonover's third kill of the set extended the Ohio State lead, 21-13.
- With the Buckeyes at set point, 24-16, the Wildcats went on a 3-0 run, but Govou's sixth kills of the set iced the 25-19 set one win for Ohio State.
- Northwestern took an early lead in the second but two straight kills from Govou and two errors from the Wildcats tied the score, 8-8.
- Govou's ninth kill of the match gave Ohio State its first lead of the set, 9-8. The Wildcats, however, reclaimed the lead and led, 15-11, at the media timeout.
- A 5-0 run for the Buckeyes, which included Govou's 10th and 11th kills of the match, put Ohio State back on top, 18-17.
- The Wildcats, however, went on an 8-3 run to come away with the second set, 25-21.
- Govou's 14th kill and third ace of the match left Ohio State trailing by just two points, 11-9, in the third set.
- At the media timeout, the Buckeyes trailed the Wildcats by three, 15-12.
- A 4-0 run, which included two more kills from Govou and two from Jones, tied the score, 18-18, and forced the Wildcats to take a timeout.
- On the other side of the timeout, the Ohio State run continued with a kill from Jones to put the Buckeyes in the lead, 19-18.
- With the score tied, 20-20, Govou's fourth ace put the Buckeyes back in the lead by one, 21-20.
- Tied once again, 21-21, the Buckeyes went on a 4-0 run, capped by an ace from Emily Avshalomov, to come away victorious in the third set, 25-21.
- The Buckeyes opened the fourth set with a solo block from Jones, and the score was soon tied early, 6-6, with the help of two kills from Jioshvili-Ravva.
- A 3-0 run, which included Govou's 20th kill of the match and back-to-back aces from Bailey Nakanelua, put the Buckeyes within one point of the lead, 11-10, and two kills from Jones and one from Lauren Wiese soon put Ohio State ahead, 13-12.
- A block by Jones and Wiese and a kill from Jioshvili-Ravva saw the Buckeyes with a 15-12 lead at the media timeout.
- Govou's fifth ace gave Ohio State a four-point lead, 16-12.
- Jioshvili-Ravva and Govou each added two more kills as the Buckeyes won set four, 25-23, and the match, 3-1.
- Govou led the Buckeyes with 22 kills. It is her ninth match of the season in double digits and her fifth match of the season with 20 or more kills. Govou also had a team-high five aces, just one short of her career-high, and she had a career-high 27 points.
- Jones tied her season-high with 16 kills. She has been in double digit kills in 13 out of 14 matches played. Jones led the team in total blocks with six, which tied her career-high.
- Jioshvili-Ravva was just short of a double-double with 13 kills and nine digs.
- Avshalomov led the team in digs with 17, and Mia Stahler added 13 digs.
- Nakanelua had a team-high 40 assists. It is the fourth time this season she has had 40 or more assists.
