- The Ohio State men's hockey team is set to host No. 2 Michigan State in a two-game Big Ten Conference series.
- The teams will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday in the Schottenstein Center in Columbus.Â
- Both games will be streamed through B1G+.Â
- Ohio State Radio will carry the action (1460 AM Columbus, WBNS-FM-HD2, streamed on espncolumbus.com and OhioStateBuckeyes.com and on the Ohio State Buckeyes app).Â

- Ohio State is 6-11-1 on the year (2-6, 6 points Big Ten) and was 0-1-1 in a home-and-home series with Bowling Green last weekend (2-2 OT tie at home, 5-3 road loss). Michigan State is 14-4 overall and has a 5-3 (15 points) B1G ledger. The Spartans won the GLI with victories over Ferris State and Michigan Tech Dec. 28-29 and downed the US National Team Development Program in an exhibition game last Sunday.

- Friday features the $5 Power Play Special. Fans can stop by any concession stand until the start of the third period for a beer and chips special. Beer options include $5 domestics, $5.50 imports/premiums and $5.99 crafts.Â
- Saturday, there is a Postgame Meet & Greet with the Buckeyes on the concourse, featuring a limited edition poster (while supplies last). It is also First Responder Night. Fans can meet first responders and see a variety of first responder vehicles from the Columbus Police and Fire departments by the northwest rotunda outside the arena.Â
- Parking is free for Ohio State men's hockey home games in the Schottenstein Center.

- The Buckeyes are scoring 3.06 goals per game this season, allowing 3.44 a contest.Â
- The power play is 10th nationally, converting 24.6 percent of its chances. The penalty kill has stopped 80.3 percent of its opponents' opportunities. Ohio State averages 11.83 penalty minutes a game.Â
- The Buckeyes are seventh nationally in faceoff winning percentage (.538).
- Jake Karabela is first on the team with 17 points, followed by Felix Caron (15) and Davis Burnside (14). Â
- Adam Eisele leads the squad with eight goals and Caron and Max Montes each have seven.Â
- Karabela has a team-high 13 assists and Ryan Gordon is second with 10 helpers.Â
- Kristoffer Eberly has started 15 games in goal to lead the team.
- Ohio State trails the all-time series with Michigan State, 58-102-13 and in Columbus, the Spartans have the lead in the series, 41-30-6.Â
- Last season, the teams met in East Lansing Nov. 8-9, 2024 and the Spartans posted a sweep with 4-2 and 4-1 wins. In Columbus Jan. 30-31, 2025, the squads split, with a 4-2 Ohio State win and 4-1 Spartan victory. The teams then faced off on Spartan home ice in the Big Ten Tournament final, won in double overtime by Michigan State, 4-3.Â
- Davis Burnside leads the current Buckeyes with 14 games played against Michigan State and is first with four goals and seven assists. Max Montes is second with a 2-4-6 line in 10 games played against the Spartans. Ryan Gordon (2a), Nathan McBrayer and William Smith (3a) have also skated in 10 games against Michigan State. Riley Thompson had two goals and two assists for four points combined in five games vs. MSU last year.
- Three Buckeyes - Kristoffer Eberly (Pinckney), Sam Hillebrandt (St. Clair) and Bryce Ingles (Port Huron) Â - are Michigan natives.Â
- Michigan State is first nationally in scoring defense, allowing 1.72 goals a game, and is 12th in scoring offense, with 3.50 goals per outing. The power play (.216) and penalty kill (.819) both rank 27th in the NCAA.Â
- Ohio State is off next weekend and will then play at Notre Dame Jan. 23-24, with puck drop at 7 p.m. for game one and 5 p.m. for game two. Peacock will stream the series.Â
- The Buckeyes will then return home to host No. 1 Michigan Jan. 30-31. Fans are encouraged to Wear Scarlet to each game vs. the Wolverines. Friday is a 6:30 p.m. game and there will be a Brutus Trapper Hat giveaway for the first 500 Ohio State students. Game two, slated for 5 p.m., includes a red THE towel giveaway for the first 1,500 fans.
