COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will play at home for the first time in 2026 and its a big one as the Buckeyes will host No. 13 and undefeated Nebraska. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on FS1. Brandon Gaudin and Steve Smith will call the action.
The game can also be heard on the Ohio State Radio Network from Learfield. Paul Keels and former Buckeye captain Ron Stokes are on the call.
- The Buckeyes are 22-8 all-time against Nebraska and 18-6 since the Cornhuskers joined the Big Ten Conference prior to the 2011-12 season. Nebraska has won three of the last five meetings in the series.
- All-time, the Buckeyes are 12-2 against the Huskers in Columbus, including a thrilling win last season.
- Last year, the teams played a pair of great games with each holding serve on its home floor. Nebraska used a big second half run to take a lead on hold on for a 79-71 victory in Lincoln on Feb. 9. Then in Columbus, the teams traded blows into two overtimes before the Buckeyes emerged with a 116-114 victory on March 4.
- Bruce Thornton is averaging 14.0 ppg in four games against Nebraska in his career. He hasn’t been held under 10 points much in his career but two of the games have come against the Cornhuskers. However, he did have 29 points and two huge three-pointers in the overtime periods in the last meeting. The lone game Thornton has missed in his four-year career was against Nebraska in 2024.
- The Buckeyes are 6-0 under head coach Jake Diebler on Monday nights.
- Ohio State is coming off an 80-73 comeback victory on Friday night at Rutgers. Bruce Thornton notched his third double-double of the year with games highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Devin Royal scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half comeback. Brandon Noel was 5-of-6 shooting and finished with 14 points while John Mobley Jr. made four more three-pointers and finished with 12 points.
- The Buckeyes were down by 15 points in the first half at Rutgers and came back to win. That was the fourth double-digit comeback victory of the season.
- Thornton’s 20 points at Rutgers moved him into eighth place on the program’s all-time scoring list, passing Jay Burson (1986-89). He is just 26 points away from passing All-American Jim Jackson (1990-92). Thornton currently has 1,759 career points.
- Mobley Jr. has made a three-pointer in every game this season, including nine over the last two games.
- Nebraska is off to its best start in program history at 14-0. The Cornhuskers are coming off a thrilling 58-56 win over No. 9 Michigan State in Lincoln last Friday. The Huskers are Top 10 in the country in field goal percentage defense.
