Buckeyes Beat Badgers 81-58 on Sneakerhead Night

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11/12 Ohio State women's basketball team (19-3, 8-2 B1G) used a strong second half to beat Wisconsin (13-9, 5-6 B1G) by an 81-58 margin on Thursday night inside the Schottenstein Center.
Wisconsin got off to a strong start from behind the arc and led by a 23-17 margin after one quarter of play. Ohio State's defense allowed only five points in the second quarter as the Buckeyes entered halftime with a 29-28 lead. The third quarter was a back-and-forth battle until an 8-0 run from Jaloni Cambridge created separation for a 56-45 Buckeye advantage to end the third quarter. The Buckeyes outscored the Badgers by a 25-13 margin in the fourth quarter to cap scoring at 81-58.
Elsa Lemmilä earned her second double-double of the month with 14 points and tied her career-high 14 rebounds. Jaloni Cambridge (29) and Chance Gray (10) joined Lemmilä in double figures as all 10 Buckeyes scored in the game.

- Q1: The Badgers opened scoring and started hot from long range, making their first four long range attempts to take a 14-7 lead. Wisconsin made back-to-back baskets to lead by as many as nine points at 18-9. The Buckeyes used a 6-0 run to get within three at 18-15 but trailed 23-17 after 10 minutes.
- Q2: The Buckeyes opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the game at 25-23 midway through the frame. Ohio State's defense held Wisconsin scoreless for more than five minutes as the Badgers missed their first six field goal attempts of the quarter. The Buckeye defense allowed only five points during the quarter and Ohio State held the 29-28 advantage going into the locker room.
- Q3: The teams traded baskets and Wisconsin took back the lead at 34-33 after the Badgers' second triple of the quarter. The lead changed five times in the next four minutes of play. After being tied at 42, J. Cambridge went on an 8-0 run to give the Buckeyes a 50-42 lead with less than two minutes to play in the third. Gray and J. Cambridge each made a three-pointer down the stretch as Ohio State led by a 56-45 margin after 30 minutes.
- Q4: J. Cambridge scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter, extending Ohio State's lead to 63-45 with 8:27 to play. The Buckeyes had a 17-4 edge in the first 6:12 of the quarter to increase their advantage to 73-49. Scoring was capped with a Wisconsin jumper with two seconds to play as Ohio State earned the 81-58 victory.
