Ohio State returns home to host No. 1 Michigan next weekend
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men's hockey team lost to Notre Dame, 6-1, Saturday in Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Ind. Notre Dame led 1-0 after the first period and pushed the lead to 5-1 through 40 minutes en route to the win.

The Buckeyes (8-13-1, 4-8 B1G) and Irish (5-18-1, 1-13 B1G) end the weekend with a split after a 4-2 Ohio State win Friday. The teams will close the regular season series March 5-6 in Columbus.

Notre Dame tallied the only goal of the first period on the power play. The Irish scored twice in the first three minutes of the second for a 3-0 lead. Riley Thompson converted on the power play for the Buckeyes at 4:26 for a 3-1 game but two Irish goals, with one on the power play, put the home team ahead 5-1 at the end of the second. Friday is a 6:30 p.m. game and there will be a Brutus Trapper Hat giveaway for the first 500 Ohio State students. - Following a series at Minnesota Feb. 6-7, the Buckeyes will be back in Columbus to host No. 5 Wisconsin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Game one vs. the Badgers is Dollar Dog Night with $1 hot dogs and it is Pucks 'n Paws Night when fans can purchase a ticket to bring their furry friend to the game (Pucks 'n Paws Tickets). - The Irish, who outshot the Buckeyes 11-5 in the first, scored the only goal of the opening period on the power play at 5:33.
- Two goals in a 49 second span, at 2:10 and 2:59, gave the Irish a 3-0 lead early in the second period.
