COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its preseason men's lacrosse honors Thursday with Ohio State men's student-athletes Caleb Fyock, Alex Marinier and Bobby Van Buren named to the Players to Watch list.
The trio of Buckeyes named Players to Watch were First Team All-Big Ten honorees in 2025 after leading the program to its first Big Ten regular season title in program history. Marinier and Fyock also earned All-Tournament Team awards following the Buckeyes' first Big Ten tournament championship win, with Fyock being voted the tournament's most outstanding player.
Marinier was the Big Ten goals leader in 2025 with 50 in his senior campaign. Fyock led the league with a .612 save percentage and was second with an 8.08 goals-against average last season. He and Van Buren helped the Buckeye defensive effort hold opponents to 10 or less goals in 11 of 17 games last season.
The Buckeyes were also picked to finish third in the conference by the league's coaches.
Ohio State opens the 2026 season at home against Detroit Mercy Sunday, Feb. 1. The Buckeyes and Titans face off at noon from Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Ohio State will also host three of its five conference games at home this season with matchups against Penn State (March 28), Johns Hopkins (April 11) and Michigan (April 17) in Columbus.
