- The Ohio State men's hockey team travels to South Bend, Ind., this weekend for two games against Notre Dame.
- The teams will meet at 7 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday in Compton Family Ice Arena.Â

Notre Dame is 4-17-1 overall (0-12-0, 1 point B1G). The Irish dropped two games at No. 8 Penn State last weekend (4-1, 6-3).Â
Buckeye Notes to Know
- Ohio State has not yet faced Notre Dame this season. The Buckeyes have one series against the other five teams remaining, with two at home and three on the road. The Buckeyes and Irish wrap up the regular season in Columbus March 5-6.
- The Buckeyes were 4-0-0 against the Irish in 2024-25.Â
- Ohio State has played in nine one-goal games, with a 2-7 mark in the contests. The squad has had six games go to overtime and is 1-4-1 in those outings.Â
- Freshman goalie Sam Hillebrandt was named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week after posting a 1.81 goals-against average and .930 save percentage in five periods of action vs. Michigan State and picking up his first collegiate win.
- Ohio State's next home games are Jan. 30-31 vs. No. 1-ranked Michigan, with puck drop set for 6:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.

- Last season, the Buckeyes swept both series against Notre Dame. In Columbus Dec. 13-14, 2024, Ohio State won 2-1 in overtime and 3-1. The Buckeyes posted two 5-1 wins at Notre Dame Feb. 7-8, 2025.
- Ohio State and Notre Dame skated as members of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association until 2012-13 when the league was disbanded. Ohio State was a founding member of the conference in 1971-72 and played for two years before leaving for three seasons (1973-74, `74-75, `75-76) and skating as an independent. Ohio State then rejoined the CCHA for the 1975-1976 campaign and remained until 2013. The Irish were in the league in 1981-82 and `82-83 and then rejoined in 1992-93. The Buckeyes and Irish last met as CCHA foes March 23, 2013 in the CCHA Tournament semifinals, a 3-1 ND win at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
- Notre Dame is scoring 2.50 goals a game and allowing 4.32 per contest. The power play is seventh in the nation (.246) and the penalty kill has stopped 80.3 of its opponents' chances. Notre Dame leads the NCAA in penalty minutes per game (18.64) and ranks 18th in faceoff winning percentage (.520).
- Davis Burnside has played a team-high 12 games against Notre Dame and leads the current Buckeyes with four goals, seven assists and 11 points vs. the Irish. Nathan McBrayer has a 1-3-4 line in seven games vs. Notre Dame. Max Montes (1g, 1a) and William Smith (1g) have both played in eight games vs. the Irish to tie for second.Â

- Up next, the Buckeyes will return home to host No. 1 Michigan Jan. 30-31. - Following a series at Minnesota Feb. 6-7, the Buckeyes will be back in Columbus to host No. 5 Wisconsin at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Game one vs. the Badgers is Dollar Dog Night with $1 hot dogs and it is Pucks 'n Paws Night when fans can purchase a ticket to bring their furry friend to the game (ticket information coming soon). Game two vs. Wisconsin is Skate & Date, featuring a free postgame skate (fans must bring their own skates).Â
