COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team earned the regular season series sweep of No. 13/14 Minnesota State with a 4-1 win Saturday at Mayo Clinic HSEC in Mankato, Minn. With the victory to close the four-game road trip, the Buckeyes improve to 21-3-0 and 15-3-0 in conference play.

The Buckeye penalty kill unit went 4-for-4 on the day and only allowed three shots. The special teams success included a power play and 4-on-4 goal.
Taylor Kressin earned the start in net, making 16 saves in her fifth win of the season.

How it Happened
- Kassidy Carmichael found the back of the net for the seventh time this season with a goal at 17:25 in the first period to give Ohio State a 1-0 lead after the opening period.
- Kressin stopped five shots in the first frame to keep the Mavericks off the board.
- A Minnesota State penalty for high sticking at the end of the first period put the Buckeyes on a five-minute power play to start the second.
- The teams skated 4-on-4 to open the middle frame after a late minor penalty on Ohio State in the first period and Emma Peschel scored just 46 seconds into play to double the Buckeye lead.
- Hilda Svensson scored on the power play at 4:38 to strengthen the Ohio State lead as time expired on the player advantage. She was assisted by Joy Dunne and Mira Jungåker.
- Minnesota State's lone goal of the game came at 9:16 in the second period
- Joy Dunne's goal at 18:44 in the second period was the final tally of the game. Sloane Matthews and Jungåker added the assists on the goal.
- Kressin made eight saves in the third period to keep the Mavericks to just one tally.
- Joy Dunne finished the series with a team-high five goals against the Mavericks from the blue line.
- Dunne and Jungåker tied for the team lead with two points on the day.
