
Trio of Buckeyes Named IL Top 50 Players of 2026

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Inside Lacrosse announced its Top 50 Players for 2026 and the Ohio State men's lacrosse trio of Cullen Brown, Caleb Fyock and Bobby Van Buren have made the list.
Fyock checks in at No. 7 with Van Buren at No. 8 and Brown at No. 13. Fyock is one of four goalies on the list and the only netminder in the top 20. Ohio State is the only team with two defenders in the top 20.
Entering his third season, Fyock recorded a career year in 2025 in net for the Buckeyes. He finished his sophomore campaign with the nation's best save percentage (.612). He was also third in the country with an 8.08 goals-against average. The 2025 Tewaaraton Award Nominee and Big Ten Specialist of the Year was also named the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Outstanding Goalie. The Bowie, Md. native held opponents to 10 or fewer goals in 11 of 17 games last season and recorded a career-high 19 saves twice on the year, including the Big Ten Tournament championship game vs. Maryland. In 2025, Fyock became the first Buckeye goalie to earn First Team All-America honors.
Van Buren, in his fifth season at close defense for the Buckeyes and in his second season as a captain, is the reigning USILA William C. Schmeisser Co-Defensive Player of the Year. The Wingate, N.C. native is a three-time All-American for the Buckeyes after picking up First Team All-America honors in 2025 after captaining the team to its first Big Ten regular season and tournament championship. Van Buren finished the 2025 season with 24 grounds balls and 16 caused turnovers and added First Team All-Big Ten and Tewaaraton Award nominee accolades to his resume.
Brown, a 2025 All-American, is the program's record holder in single season caused turnovers with 34 in 2025. He finished last season top five in the country, and first in the Big Ten, with 2.00 caused turnovers per game. The Silver Spring, Md. native also led non-faceoff players on the team with 60 ground balls in his junior campaign. Brown, a senior close defenseman, is as a captain of the 2026 Buckeyes.
