Dublin native earned first home win in dual vs. Indiana
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State redshirt freshman e'Than Birden (165) was named the Big Ten Freshman of the week Thursday by the league office.
Birden improved his season record to 17-6 with a 2-1 win over No. 20 Tyler Lillard of Indiana in Ohio State's 45-0 win over the Hoosiers last Sunday in Columbus.
After winning the 2025 Midlands Championships with a 5-0 record, Birden got the call at 165 in the Big Ten opening dual of the season and delivered his first home victory as a Buckeye.
No. 2 Ohio State (12-0, 1-0) is back in action Jan. 23 at No. 7 Minnesota (7 p.m./BTN).
