COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's hockey student-athletes Mira Jungåker, Jenna Raunio and Hilda Svensson will play for Sweden at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced Monday.
The players will all make their Olympic debuts with their national team this year after years on the national team. All three players played on Sweden's 2025 Women's World Championships team. Jungåker has competed at the world championship level with the women's national team since 2022 and Svensson since 2023.
Svensson leads the Buckeyes in points (38), assists (24) and plus/minus (+29) through the first 22 games of her rookie season. Her 38 points this season rank seventh-most by an Ohio State freshman. The Oskarshamn, Sweden native also leads all freshmen in the NCAA this season in points, assists and goals (14). Svensson has been named the WCHA Rookie of the Week five times this season, the league Rookie of the Month twice and Forward of the Month once. Svensson was also the HCA National Rookie of the Month for October.
Jungåker and Raunio play for a Buckeye blue line that has only allowed 1.73 goals per game, good for top 10 nationally.
Jungåker is +22 on the year with 15 points on five goals and 10 assists. She scored a career-best two goals in the season opener at Colgate (Oct. 3) and has a point in the last five games for the Buckeyes and at least a point in 14 of her 19 games played this year.
Raunio has 13 points and is +11 in 19 games played this year for the Buckeyes. She scored her first career goal against third-ranked Minnesota (Oct. 19) and has multi-point performances in ranked matchups against Colgate, Minnesota and Minnesota Duluth.
The trio will join Ohio State teammates Joy Dunne (USA) and Sanni Vanhanen (FIN) as current NCAA players competing in the Olympic Games this year. Twelve total Buckeyes, current and former, will compete in Milan.
