
Jaloni Cambridge and Kylee Kitts Earn Big Ten Weekly Awards

Cambridge was named Big Ten Player of the Week and Kitts was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly women's basketball awards on Monday. Sophomore guard Jaloni Cambridge was named Big Ten Player of the Week, while freshman guard/forward was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. It was the first time that each of them received their respective honor.

Ohio State's most recent Big Ten Player of the Week was Ajae Petty on Dec. 2, 2024. The Buckeyes' most recent Big Ten Freshman of the Week was Cambridge on March 2, 2025.

Cambridge had the best week of her collegiate career as the Buckeyes went 2-0 on the road last week, handing Illinois and Maryland their first home losses of the season. Cambridge averaged 34.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She began the week with a career-high 41 points in the win at Illinois – becoming the first Buckeye to score 40 points in a game against a Big Ten opponent since Kelsey Mitchell totaled 43 against Rutgers on March 4, 2016. Cambridge is just the fourth player in program history to score 40 or more points in a game, joining Mitchell, Samantha Prahalis and Katie Smith. Cambridge added six rebounds, six assists and two steals as she made a career-high 15 field goals in the game. In the Buckeyes' first top 10 win of the season at No. 8 Maryland, Cambridge led the game with 28 points and added a career-high nine rebounds, tied her career-high eight assists and totaled two steals (including the 100th steal of her career). She was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. She recorded her 800th career point in Sunday's game – the 46th game of her collegiate career. This season, Cambridge is third in the league in scoring (21.2), tied third in steals (2.4 spg) and fourth in field goals made per game (8.3). She's scored in double figures in all 17 games.

Kitts had a tremendous week, averaging 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a steal per game. She led the team in field goal percentage (.579) and three point percentage (.667) among those attempting more than one field goal in each respective category. Kitts began the week with 10 points and five rebounds in the win at Illinois, shooting 4-of-6 (.667) from the floor and making her lone three-point shot. In the Buckeyes' first top 10 win of the season at No. 8 Maryland, Kitts tied her career-high 18 points and added eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. She made a career-high three triples, shooting 3-of-5 (.600) from long range, and tied her career-high seven field goals made. These were her sixth and seventh double-figure scoring performances of the season. This season, Kitts is tied for 10th in the conference in rebounding (7.4 rpg), ranks third with 3.2 offensive rebounds per game and is tied for 12th in blocking (1.0 bpg).
