COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team earned a 2-0 win over Kentucky on Sunday afternoon in Lexington, winning its fourth consecutive match and improving to 4-1-1 on the season.
Junior forward Amanda Schlueter led the way for the Buckeyes, scoring both goals to bookend the match. She now has 21 goals and 21 assists in her career, becoming the sixth Buckeye with 20 career goals and 20 career assists.
Her first goal came in the fourth minute when Mia McSweeney’s cross hit a UK defender and went right to Schlueter. She rifled a right-footed shot past the keeper to put the Buckeyes up early.
The Buckeyes scored again late in the second half as Elle Britt started the buildup and found Jacinda Bonham who then touched a pass to Schlueter who again slotted a shot past the keeper to cement the victory in the 82nd minute.
