COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20 Ohio State women's soccer team will close non-conference play on Sunday, Sept. 7, when the Buckeyes travel to Kentucky for a 1 p.m. match at the Bell Soccer Complex. The contest will be televised nationally on ESPNU. Â
- The Buckeyes are 3-1-1 on the season and riding a three-match win streak, most recently blanking Ashland, 3-0, on Senior Day at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Â
- Junior forward Ava Bramblett opened the scoring in the 20th minute with her first goal of the season, while sophomore Anika Poremba and junior Amanda Schlueter added second-half tallies to seal the victory. Schlueter's goal marked her third of the year and extended her point streak to three consecutive matches. Poremba also added an assist for the first three-point match of her career. In goal, senior Molly Pritchard made the start and tallied one save before classmate Arden La-Rose closed out the final 20 minutes. Â
- Through five matches, Ohio State has outscored its opponents 7-3 and is led offensively by Schlueter, who ranks fifth in program history with 20 career assists and has three goals on the season. Â
- Sunday's matchup will be the ninth all-time meeting between Ohio State and Kentucky. The Wildcats lead the series, 4-2-1, with the last meeting coming in the 2013 season. Â
- The Buckeyes are 11-14-4 all-time against teams currently in the SEC. They fell 1-0 at South Carolina earlier this season.Â
- Kentucky is 6-1-0 on the season and is coming off a 3-0 win over Mercyhurst on Thursday night. The Wildcats' lone match against a Power 4 team was its lone loss on the season, a 2-1 setback to Illinois. Â
- Sunday's match will be Kentucky's eighth consecutive home match to start the season. Â
- Offensively, Kentucky leads the nation in corner kicks per game and tops the SEC in shots, goals scored, and points.Â
- Cat Rapp is among the league leaders with 15 points, while Tanner Strickland paces the SEC with five assists through seven matches.Â
