COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 13 Ohio State field hockey team (2-1) fell to No. 3 Virginia (2-0), 1-0, in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Buckeye Varsity Field on Friday.

- The first half was a defensive battle between the Buckeyes and the Cavaliers, as both teams went scoreless.
- The Buckeyes led in shots on goal, 3-2, in the first half of play and goalie Maddie Stevens saved both of Virginia's shots.

- Another corner was awarded to the Buckeyes after a review with a little less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, but once again, Ohio State's shot, taken by Zella Bailey, was blocked, and the Cavaliers came away with the win.
