Date:Â Sept. 27, 2025
Location:Â Husky Stadium; Seattle, Wash.
Attendance:Â 72,485
Final Score: No. 1/1 Ohio State 24, Washington 6Â Â
- Ohio State extended its winning streak to eight consecutive games with its road win over Washington Saturday afternoon in Seattle. In the process, Ohio State snapped Washington's 22-game home win streak.
- Ohio State holds a 10-3 advantage in wins in the series with Washington and has won five consecutive games.
- Ryan Day's head coaching record is now 74-10 for a winning percentage of .881, best among all active head coaches.
- A win next week vs. Minnesota will raise Day's winning percentage to .882, topping the all-time best career win percentage in major college history: .881 by Knute Rockne (Notre Dame, 1918-30). Day won't have 10 years in yet as a head coach – the NCAA threshold for best career winning percentage – but simply topping Rockne at any point in a coaching career, much less 85 games into a career, is certainly significant.
- Day's Ohio State teams are 47-5 in Big Ten Conference games (.903) and 24-3 in true road games.
- Eight catches for Jeremiah Smith gives him 103 for his career and status as the fastest Buckeye – tied, actually, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba – to reach 100 career catches: 20 games. This coming one game after he broke Smith-Njigba's record for fastest to 1,500 yards (19 games). Smith finished with eight catches for 81 yards and his fourth touchdown of the season.
- Ohio State is now 7-2 in Pacific Time zone games since 2007. The wins: Washington (2007, *2019, 2025), Oregon (*2010 and *2025), Cal (2013) and Utah (*2022). The losses: USC (2008) and Oregon (2024). * Rose Bowl games
- C.J. Donaldson had both a rushing and receiving touchdown in the same game for just the second time in his career (vs. Pitt in 2024 while at WVU). This was his third rushing touchdown this season and his first receiving touchdown. Â
- Freshman running back Bo Jackson led the Buckeyes on the ground for the third consecutive game, finishing with 80 yards on 17 carries.
- The Buckeye defense has still yet to allow a redzone touchdown this season.
- Caden Curry led the Ohio State defense with career highs in tackles (11), solo tackles (9) and tackles-for-loss (5-29 yards). He also collected a career-high 3.0 sacks and now has 6.0 on the season and 14.5 for his career.
- Ohio State is 13-0 in games Curry records a TFL. Â
- Kayden McDonald had a huge 4th down sack in the fourth quarter. That was the second sack of his career, and it comes one game after he collected his first sack in the win over Ohio two weeks ago. He too finished the game with a career-high seven tackles, including three tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a QB hurry.
- Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. entered the game averaging over 73 yards per game on the ground and finished with -28 today.Â
