COLUMBUS, Ohio – A pair of Ohio State football players received CBS Preseason All-America nods, as announced by the publication on Tuesday.
Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and offensive lineman Luke Montgomery were both named to the first team ahead of the 2026 season.
Over his first two collegiate seasons, Smith totaled 2,558 receiving yards and 27 touchdown receptions are the most by any Big Ten receiver in their first two years in college. One of three receivers in Ohio State history to have two 1,000-yd receiving seasons.
Smith has more receiving yards and receiving touchdowns - 2,558 and 27, respectively - than anyone in the country the past two seasons and he has the second-most receptions - 163 - the last two years (Toledo's Junior Vandeross has 167).
Montgomery started in all 14 games for the Buckeyes in the 2025 season, helping quarterback Julian Sayin to have the second-best pass efficiency in college football (177.5).
Montgomery led the way, playing 870 snaps on offense and special teams. He was named a Second-team All-American (AFCA), Second Team All-Big Ten, OSU Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten Conference.
Additionally, Ohio State is one of just two schools in FBS (Miami) to have a 3,500-yard passer, a 1,000-yard receiver and a 1,000-yard rusher each of the past two seasons.
