
Ohio State Falls to Rutgers in Overtime in B1G Opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team (3-5, 0-1 Big Ten) fell to No. 19 Rutgers (5-4, 1-0 Big Ten), 2-1, in overtime on Friday to open Big Ten play.

- The Scarlet Knights got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead 47 seconds into the first quarter.
- A little under six minutes into the game, Ohio State evened the score, 1-1. Makenna Webster knocked the ball down and Lindsey Roberts tapped it in for her first goal of the season.
- The Buckeyes and Rutgers battled it out defensively for the remainder of the first half and went into halftime still tied, 1-1. Ohio State outshot the Scarlet Knights, 10-1, in the first half of play.
