Ohio State allowed one goal last week, shut out Butler on the road
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Nick McHenry, a sophomore defender from Loveland, Ohio, was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday after the Buckeyes allowed just one goal in a pair of matches last week, the league office announced.
McHenry, now with two conference defensive awards this season, and the rest of the Ohio State back line allowed nine shots on the road in a 4-0 victory over Butler.Â
Earlier in the week, Ohio State fell to No. 6 Louisville, 1-0, while allowing the Cardinals just nine shots as well.Â
Ohio State will open defense of its 2024 Big Ten regular-season and tournament titles Friday at Michigan State (7 p.m./B1G+).
