COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12 Ohio State field hockey team (2-3) fell to No. 8 Harvard (3-0), 2-1, in double overtime on Friday.

- The Crimson got on the board first, scoring with a little over one minute left in the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead.
- Maddie Stevens made two saves in the second quarter and the Buckeyes remained behind by just one goal at the half.
- The Buckeyes tied the score, 1-1-, in the third quarter. Katie Fichtner scored on a penalty corner, with assists going to Victoria Kutz and Autum Kernechel.
- Both teams went scoreless in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.
- The Buckeyes got two shots off in the first overtime period, but neither hit its mark and the score remained tied, 1-1.
- Stevens made two big saves in the second overtime period, but the Crimson scored at the 77:50 mark to earn the victory.
- Fichtner's goal was her second of the season.
- Riley Hudson and Lindsey Roberts led the Buckeyes with two shots each.
- Stevens (2-3) recorded a career-high five saves.
- Kernechel's assist is the first of her career and it was the first assist of the season for Kutz.
- Ohio State plays at Northeastern on Sunday, Sept. 14 at noon. The game will air on FloCollege.
