Buckeyes Collect Third Consecutive Win, Beat Ashland 3-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team returned home and secured a 3-0 victory over Ashland on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The Buckeyes have won their third consecutive match and are now 3-1-1 on the season.
Ohio State controlled the tempo early, holding the majority of possession in the opening 45 minutes. The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when junior forward Ava Bramblett finished a feed from freshman Callie Tumilty, marking Bramblett’s first goal of the season and the 7th goal of her career.
The Buckeyes continued their run in the second half when sophomore Anika Poremba found the back of the net for her first goal of the season in the 52nd minute. She then found the foot of Amanda Schlueter in the 59th minute and the junior midfielder laced a shot into the back of the net for the third Buckeye goal of the match. That was also Schlueter’s third goal of the season and it marks her third consecutive game with a point.
Both senior goalkeepers logged minutes in the match as Molly Pritchard got the start and made the lone save. Arden La-Rose played the final 20 minutes.
The Buckeyes outshot Ashland 13-3and held an 8-3 edge in corners.
Up Next
Ohio State will close out non-conference play next Sunday with a trip to Kentucky. The first touch is set for 1 p.m. and the match will be televised on ESPNU.
