Ohio State projected to place fifth in the Big Ten Preseason Poll
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State forward Amanda Schlueter, defender Ava Bramblett and goalkeeper Molly Pritchard have been named to the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Soccer Players to Watch list.
The conference unveiled the list along with its preseason poll on Monday, in a vote by the league’s 18 head coaches. The Buckeyes were projected to finish fifth in the Big Ten Conference this season.
Schlueter is coming off an All-Big Ten sophomore season in 2024, scoring 10 goals and leading the team with 12 assists, tying the program’s single-season record. She assisted on all three goals in a 3-0 win over Maryland on Oct. 4, tying the program’s single-game assists record. Schlueter later netted the game-winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Auburn in the NCAA Tournament’s second round.
Bramblett started all 23 matches in 2024, anchoring the Buckeye defense while contributing three goals on the season. She recorded her first career assist in a 3-0 win at Indiana on Sept. 12, delivered a thrilling game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation to beat Northwestern 2-1 on Sept. 26, and opened the scoring in a 4-2 win at Purdue on Oct. 13.
Pritchard started all 23 matches in 2024, posting a 0.86 goals-against average with 91 saves, including a career-high 11 stops against Duke on Aug. 15. She recorded four solo shutouts and was part of three combined shutouts on the year.
Ohio State returns nine starters from last year’s squad, which earned its fifth-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth, finishing 14-6-3 overall and tied for seventh in the Big Ten.
The Buckeyes open the season Thursday, Aug. 14, hosting Clemson at 7 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
