Buckeyes will play seven home games this fall and host the Big Ten/ACC Challenge
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seven home games – including two as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in early September – highlights Ohio State's 2025 field hockey schedule, which was released today.
As in past years, the Buckeyes will host four Big Ten games in addition to three against non-conference foes. Six of Ohio State's seven home games will occur between Aug. 31 and Oct. 12. The Buckeyes will also play three exhibition games prior to the beginning of the regular season. One of those scrimmages – vs. Miami University – will occur at home on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 1 p.m.
Now in its 23rd season, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge has proven to be the premiere early-season field hockey tournament on the collegiate slate. The four participating schools – Ohio State, Syracuse, Virginia and Rutgers – combined for a 49-26 overall record in 2024. Ohio State plays Syracuse on Friday, Sept. 5 and Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 7. Buckeye Field will also be the host of games between Syracuse and Rutgers (Sept. 5) and Virginia vs. Rutgers (Sept. 7).
Ohio State's four Big Ten home games this fall will be against Maryland (Oct. 3), Michigan (Oct. 12), Penn State (Oct. 5) and Iowa (Oct. 31). The Buckeyes will face six teams that participated in last season's NCAA Tournament.
Indiana will host the Big Ten Tournament, Nov. 6-9, in Bloomington, Ind. The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will be held on campus sites Nov. 14-16, while the semifinal and championship games are slated for Nov. 21-23 in Durham, N.C.
Admission to all Ohio State home games at Buckeye Varsity Field is free. Visit OhioStateBuckeyes.com for Ohio State's complete schedule along with information about game themes and promotions.
