
Sherman, Torres Earn USA Lacrosse All-America Honors

Tandem led Buckeye defensive effort in 2025
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Defender Lilli Sherman and goalie Jocelyn Torres of the Ohio State women's lacrosse team have been selected USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-Americans, USA Lacrosse announced Thursday.

Sherman, a Buckeye captain from Bloomfield Hills, Mich., also was named a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree this year. She started all 15 games on defense and led the Buckeyes with 24 caused turnovers, ranking second with 25 ground balls. Sherman scored her first career goal on her first career shot on Senior Day vs. Northwestern. After playing just five games in her first two years as a Buckeye, she saw action in 26 games over the last two years, with 24 starts, missing games only because of injury. She had 46 ground balls and 36 caused turnovers in her Buckeye career. Sherman is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and has earned IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, Academic All-Big Ten and Ohio State Scholar-Athlete laurels.

A native of Glenwood, Md., Torres, a junior who was in her first year as a Buckeye, started all 15 games in the cage in 2025. She is seventh in the NCAA in save percentage (.496) and ranks 12th nationally in goals-against average (9.49), standing 26th in saves per game (9.20). She had eight double-digit save games on the year. Torres had a team-high 29 ground balls and also had six caused turnovers. In her collegiate career, Torres has a 10.52 goals-against average, 415 saves and a .458 save percentage while seeing action in 52 games. She earned Ohio State Scholar-Athlete accolades.

As a team, Ohio State, led by Sherman and Torres, ranks 13th nationally in scoring defense, allowing 9.47 goals per game.
