Four Buckeyes Named to Big Ten All-Freshman Team

Tyler Burgess, Noah Copeland, David Ramirez and Conlan Simpkins made the inaugural Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its inaugural Big Ten Men's Gymnastics All-Freshman Team on Wednesday. Four Buckeyes (Tyler Burgess, Noah Copeland, David Ramirez, Conlan Simpkins) were among the eight freshmen selected based on their performances at the Big Ten Championships this past weekend.
- Burgess earned a career-high 13.950 and stuck his dismount on parallel bars during the Big Ten team championships to qualify for the individual event finals. Burgess then earned a 13.675 to finish fifth in the Big Ten individual event finals as the top-scoring freshman on the event.
- Copeland competed on both floor (13.150) and high bar (12.750) for the Buckeyes during the Big Ten team championships, finishing 11th overall on floor and 12th overall on high bar.
- Ramirez was a member of the lineup on a team-high four events during the Big Ten team championships. He earned a career-high 13.350 on floor, also scoring 14.150 on vault, 13.650 on parallel bars and 11.500 on pommel horse. Ramirez qualified for the individual finals on vault, earning a 14.075 to finish seventh overall and second among freshmen on the event.
- Simpkins made his Big Ten Championships debut on pommel horse, earning an 11.450 during the team championships.
