Sherman Selected B1G Defensive Player of the Week

Defender earns first career honor
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Lilli Sherman, a senior defender on the Ohio State women's lacrosse team, has been selected the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the B1G announced Tuesday.
Sherman had five ground balls and four caused turnovers combined in the Buckeyes' two wins last week. Ohio State limited its opponents to 14 total goals and 37 shots in the two games combined. Against the Ducks in the B1G opener, a 20-6 win, Sherman had two ground balls and a career-high four caused turnovers and the Buckeyes allowed just 14 shots. She had three ground balls vs. the Aztecs in a 22-8 win. The Buckeyes are fourth nationally in team defense, allowing 6.38 goals a game.
The Buckeyes are back home to host No. 21 USC at noon Sunday, followed by a game vs. No. 11 Michigan at 6 p.m. March 27. The game vs. the Trojans is the Our Honor Defend Military Appreciation game. There will be a 20 percent concessions discount for military members and veterans, a kids corner with activities (weather permitting) and a postgame meet and greet.
