For the fifth consecutive year, the pistol team is national champion as it won both the sport and air pistol events – the standard pistol competition was cancelled because of inclement weather – at the National Pistol Championships, held at Anniston, Ala. The title is the sixth for Ohio State coach Emil Milev.

The No. 2 women’s hockey team (28-7-3) defeated St. Lawrence, 6-1, Saturday evening to advance to the Frozen Four for a fifth consecutive year, a streak of Frozen Four appearances that has only been done twice before in NCAA women’s hockey history.
The No. 10 men’s hockey team defeated Penn State, 4-3, in overtime Saturday at Value City Arena to advance to the Big Ten tournament championship game this Saturday at Michigan State. The Buckeyes are now 24-12-2 on the season.

The No. 20 women’s lacrosse team scored 42 goals – 20 vs. Oregon and 22 vs. San Diego State – in dominant victories to improve to 8-0 on the year and extend its best start in school history.
Softball took No. 1 Texas right to the end in a 4-2 loss on Monday, but came back to defeat Notre Dame, 3-2, and then won two of three over Nebraska to improve to 20-6-1 and 1-1 in the Big Ten.

The baseball team (5-12) defeated Eastern Michigan to improve to 4-1 at home and then dropped its initial Big Ten series at Indiana.
The No. 16 men’s volleyball team won twice vs. Queens to improve to 11-8 overall and 6-3 in the MIVA.

The No. 23 women’s gymnastics team swept Kent State, Pitt and West Virginia in a quad meet Sunday, scoring 196.875 points, to improve to 6-10 on the season.

Women’s and men’s track & field performers Leah Bertrand 60 meters) and Edidiong Udo (400 meters) competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday and both earned second-team All-America honors with Top 16 finishes.
The No. 10 women’s tennis team split weekend matches at Michigan and Michigan State and are now 9-2 on the year and 3-1 in the Big Ten.

Members of the men’s and women’s swimming teams competed at the CSCAA NIT over the weekend with the men winning their meet and the women placing fifth.
