
Kameron Nelson Named Finalist for Nissen Emery Award

The CGA announced the finalists on Tuesday for award honoring the most outstanding senior gymnast.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The College Gymnastics Association announced the finalists for the 2025 Nissen Emery Award on Tuesday. Senior all-arounder Kameron Nelson was one of the seven finalists on the list. The Nissen Emery Award honors the most outstanding senior gymnast in the country for their career accomplishments.

Nelson made history this season by becoming the first gymnast in the world to compete two triples in a single floor routine. He's already captured 10 individual event titles this season to bring his career total to 20. Nelson won the 2022 Big Ten vault title, was the runner-up in 2024 and finished third in 2023. He earned a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team in 2022 and All-Big Ten Second Team in 2023 and 2024.

He is a five-time All-American, earning three of those honors at the 2023 NCAA Championships (finished third on floor, fifth on vault and sixth in the all-around competition). He also finished seventh on floor at the 2024 NCAA Championships and earned regular-season All-American status in 2024.

Nelson is a four-time OSU Scholar Athlete, three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was named to the CGA Scholar All-American First Team in 2021. He has been named a Big Ten Gymnast to Watch prior to each of the past three seasons. Nelson has been named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week three times, CGA Gymnast of the Week and Inside Gymnastics Gymnast of the Week.

Nelson was a member of the U.S. National Team in 2023 and was a finalist on floor and vault in the 2023 Cairo World Cup. He is a three-time national champion (floor and vault in 2023, vault in 2024). Nelson also captured the floor and vault championships at the 2023 Winter Cup.
