
Three Buckeye Divers Qualify for NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three Ohio State divers qualified for the NCAA Championships following competition at NCAA Zones, which wrapped up on Wednesday at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
On day one of Zones on Monday, two Buckeye divers qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Tyler Read placed seventh in 1-meter finals with an overall score of 672.00 to qualify for the championships. Dom Roberto advanced to finals, finishing 14th with a score of 617.15.
Paola Pineda Vazquez earned a spot at the NCAA Championships to compete on the 3-meter. She placed seventh in finals with an aggregate score of 636.00. Michelle Mazzara advanced to finals, placing 16th with a score of 539.35.
On day two of Zones, Clayton Chaplin punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships on the 3-meter board. He placed eighth with a score of 724.45. Tyler Read (695.30) and Dom Roberto (678.05) competed in finals; they finished 11th and 15th, respectively.
Pineda Vazquez qualified for her second event at NCAAs with a third-place finish on the 1-meter. She earned an aggregate score of 576.75.
Competition concluded on Wednesday with platform diving. Pineda Vazquez finished fifth in finals with an aggregate score of 582.10. She will compete in all three diving events at the NCAA Championships.
For the men, Chaplin qualified for his second NCAA event, placing eighth on platform with a score of 712.55. Kylie Flory (649.75) and Roberto (598.20) competed in platform finals. Flory finished 12th and Roberto placed 16th.
The NCAA Championships will take place in Federal Way, Wash. with the women competing March 19-22 and the men competing March 26-29.
