COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's basketball team (1-0) beat Coppin State (1-2) by an 88-59 margin in the Buckeyes' 2025-26 season opener inside Value City Arena.

Ohio State started quickly in the first quarter, building a 23-11 lead after 10 minutes. The second quarter proved to be more of a defensive battle and the Buckeyes held the 32-26 advantage going into the locker room. The Buckeyes' offense clicked in the second half, scoring 29 points in the third quarter and 27 points in the fourth quarter, to seal the victory.

Jaloni Cambridge was the first in the game to score 10 points, doing so in the second quarter on her way to 23 points total. Chance Gray (17) and Kennedy Cambridge (11) joined J. Cambridge in double figures. K. Cambridge totaled a career-high seven steals and J. Cambridge tied her career-high eight rebounds.

Q1: Jaloni Cambridge opened scoring and the Buckeyes used a 6-0 run to build an 8-2 advantage after three minutes of play. The Buckeye defense held the Eagles without a basket for nearly five minutes as the offense scored eight unanswered points to lead 18-7 with 2:31 remaining in the quarter. Ohio State led by a 23-11 margin after 10 minutes.
Q2: J. Cambridge scored six points in the second quarter to be the first in the game to reach double figures as the teams traded baskets to open the quarter's scoring. Coppin State finished the second quarter with a 6-0 run to trim Ohio State's lead to 32-26 at halftime.
Q3: Ohio State's offense came out of the locker room strong, outscoring Coppin State by 10 points over the first five minutes of the third quarter.
