Ohio State captured a five-set win on Saturday afternoon on the road against Maryland as Olivia Hasbrook surpassed 700 career digs.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (4-17, 1-12 B1G) won a five-setter (23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 11-25, 15-12) against Maryland (8-15, 1-12 B1G) on Saturday afternoon in College Park. Â

The first set featured 14 ties and six lead changes and was tight throughout with Maryland scoring the final two points to capture a 25-23 set win. The Buckeyes evened the match with a 25-16 set win in the second, using an 11-0 run midway through the set to create separation. The Buckeyes led from wire-to-wire in the third set, winning by a 25-21 margin. The Terrapins forced a fifth set with a 25-11 victory in the fourth. The Buckeyes held off a late Terrapins push in the fifth set to win by a 15-12 margin.

- S1: Maryland opened scoring and the teams traded points to begin the match before a 4-1 Ohio State run gave the Buckeyes an early 6-4 advantage. The Terrapins scored four unanswered points to take a 9-7 lead. Each team put together a 3-0 run and took the lead as the set continued to be tight. Ohio State went on a 5-0 run to take a 19-16 lead, but Maryland took a 21-19 lead with a 5-0 run of its own. The Terrapins won the set by a 25-23 margin after scoring the final two points of the set.
- S2: Ohio State scored the first three points of the set. Maryland used a 4-0 run to take a 7-5 lead and a 3-0 run to extend the lead to 11-7, prompting an OSU timeout. The Buckeyes strung together 11 unanswered points, including a trio of aces from Olivia Hasbrook, to take a 20-12 lead. Na'Vea Gauthier converted kills on the final two points of the set to cap a 25-16 set win for the Buckeyes, evening the match.
- S3: The Buckeyes again went up 3-0 to start the set and used a 4-0 run, including a pair of aces from Mia Tuman, to build an early 10-4 advantage. The Terrapins scored the next four points to get within two and cut their deficit to one point at 16-15. Maryland was within one again at 18-17 before back-to-back Ohio State points got OSU to 20 first. The Buckeyes used a 3-0 run down the stretch and sealed a 25-21 set win with Reese Wuebker's ninth kill of the match.
- S4: Maryland struck first in the set and used a 4-0 run to take an early 7-4 lead. The Terrapins used an extended 10-1 run to open up an 20-8 lead amidst a pair of Buckeye timeouts. Maryland forced a fifth set with a 25-11 set win.
- S5: Maryland scored first, but Ohio State scored five of the next six to lead 5-2 after a kill from Wuebker. The Terrapins got back within one at 7-6 after back-to-back points, but the Buckeyes scored the next three to increase the lead to 10-6. Ohio State maintained a four-point lead at 12-8 but Maryland cut that to 12-11 with three straight points. The Buckeyes scored the next two points and capped a 15-12 win with Wuebker's 16th kill.
