COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six Buckeyes are headed to Orlando, Florida, this week to compete in the 2025 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Junior Aidan Kim, senior Jack Anthrop and redshirt junior Preston Stearns will compete in the singles tournament while junior Bryce Nakashima (with Kim), sophomore Nikita Filin and redshirt sophomore Brandon Carpico will compete in the doubles championship.Â
Senior Alexander Bernard and junior Alex Okonkwo are alternates in doubles.
This is the second year of a two-year program of holding the singles and doubles championships at the end of the fall season. There were qualifying events in which players could earn their spot in the fall championship.
Kim earned his way by advancing to the finals of the season-opening ITA All-American Championships (Sept. 20-28/Tulsa). Stearns was the co-champion of the ITA Midwest Regional Championships (Oct. 16-20/Chicago) while Anthrop claimed his spot with an appearance in the semifinals at the ITA Central Sectional (Nov. 6-8/Ann Arbor, Michigan).
In doubles, the team of Kim and Nakashima qualified by winning the title at the Midwest Regional while Filin and Carpico earned their spot as finalists at the Central Sectional Championships.Â

- Last time in the NCAAs: Anthrop made the quarterfinals of the 2024 Spring NCAA Championship while Kim advanced to the Round of 16 in the Fall of 2024. Nakashima, with Will Jansen, made the quarters of the 2024 Fall championships in doubles.Â
- Kim/Nakashima and Filin/Carpico are looking to continue the recent run of Buckeye doubles success in the NCAA Tournament. A Buckeye doubles team has won two of the last three NCAA Championship. James Trotter and Andrew Lutschaunig won in 2023, and JJ Tracy and Robert Cash won in 2024.
